St. Alphonsa

Feast Day: July 28

St. Alphonsa was an Indian Catholic Franciscan Clarist nun who lived a life of quiet suffering and profound joy in God. She became the first woman of Indian origin to be canonized as a saint.

"I consider suffering a great gift from the Lord. I desire to love Him with all my heart and surrender completely."

O Lord, grant us the patience and joy of St. Alphonsa, that in every trial we may entrust ourselves entirely to Your divine will. Amen.
